Love being crafty

The journey of experimenting art and being crafty is something that makes feel better and satisfied now a days in spite of my busy schedule i started digging my head into clay work, paper art works, which brought the creativity in me and i could see myself totally enjoying what ever i do, in my last blog i was writing about how i started my journey towards hand craft works and in this i just want to share the next set of learning towards paper made jewellery.

I started seeing lot of people using paper quilling jewellery now a days and BTW it has became more trendy in the market, as it is made on paper and easily made on required colors. Learning quilling is not a big deal but to sit and work needs lot of patience and anticipation toward the work we do, apart from that it needs lot of creativity and love towards art. If making money is the only reason for learning an art that will not work, out making money is something that has to be least bothered in art. Art is something that has to be felt and experienced from heart and life, that's what i always feel.

Working with clay was something different than working with papers. Paper quilling was bit easy and can come out with things quickly but this has lot of techniques to be worked on, as a beginner i started goggling about this and started experimenting i also used few terracotta beeds with paper strip modules i made and it was like fusion of both materials, started trying out different shapes and styles using paper strips, first batch of work i did was completely on experimental swing. I love to share the photos of those i made using paper strips.

Mud and Me

Mud and Me

It just started from the love toward art and thirst towards learning them, the 3 months after my MBA (2014) was like totally boring, and was trying to figure out my next level of career, that was the time i had a thought and thirst to learn something tat will develop my skill and also to keep me occupied, but was not sure on what to do and when to do it, well all of a sudden i found the love towards fashion, textiles, jewelry, the passion towards fashion has been in me from the childhood as because of my mom being a designer, i always feel comfortable in fashion jewelry than gold.

Searching about terracotta and clay was what i did for 2 weeks after i found that i finally want to learn terracotta jewelry making process and eventually i also came to know that lot of people have started teaching that but there is quality issues with them. finally found a right place and person to learn where surprisingly that was one of my friend whom i never met in person but was close to me in watsup!!! and the class carved me well and craze towards mud increased.Terracotta is a natural mud clay which we get in south India. where potters use that to make terracotta pots this art is one of the oldest art where even from ancient days people use designed terracotta pots for cooking. working with terracotta requires lot of patience as its time consuming and a work to mind and hand. well i started it well the way i work with clay initially was little difficult as i don't know the techniques.

The first few works i made had few flaws in it, eventually in a week after the class i myself came to know that what I'm doing is a good work for a beginner. working with clay initially was bit tricky till i came to know how to handle it,i make myself messy with clay, water and colors  after 2 weeks i found a workplace in my room and arranged my working kit and space accordingly comfortable. Its always important to keep tools and materials arranged in such a way to work comfortable as we need so many things at a time to work. and also being creative is one important quality we need to work on clay jewelry making,  I'm planing to write more tutorial blogs, where it will be a guide for people who wants to work with clay and paper art. Playing with clay and colors kept me occupied and could feel that the creative bugs in my system is active and it was totally an awesome feel to work on something creative. This is where i found the love towards Art and Mud and the first few works i did where posted below.
